![]() Just because you know something about aerospace engineering doesn’t mean you really know anything about computer security. Non-technical users should generally not be referred to as “idiots.” They might not be as computer savvy or be able to do aerospace engineering, but they probably have other skills that you don’t, which would make you the idiot from their perspective.Ģ. ![]() It’s like working with a really crippled Unix system.ġ. I really am surprised that this vile system is considered a competitor to Linux or even FreeBSD. Well, it just means I’m done with my evaluation of the Mac on VirtualBox, and I’m discarding it, and going to continue with Linux. They intentionally broke the interface, and made it possible to run a non certified program, but only through a great deal of difficulty, to try to make money off from developers to get their software certified. Apple is making money off from every program that is “certified” by them. Not force you to go to a website and look up a method of enable the program.īut I understand why they do this. The correct way to handle this is to indicate that you are running a program that isn’t trusted, explain why it’s not trusted, and ultimately allow you to over-ride it directly from the pop up menu either temporarily, or permanently, for that program. I’m an electrical engineer, and it is irritating to have to fight the software.

The city in general is navigated using an overworld map. The camera follows the party from an adjustable angled overhead perspective. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a role-playing game where the player takes control of a group of characters exploring the fictional city of Sumaru. The player's party (here consisting of Maya, Katsuya, Ulala, and Baofu) fights enemy demons in turn-based battles. Reception of the game in Japan and the West has generally been positive, with reviewers appreciating improvements over Innocent Sin, the plot, the gameplay systems, and the improved localization compared to the original Persona. The game's theme song, "Change Your Way", was written by English singer-songwriter Elisha La'Verne based on the game's premise. The second game began development after Innocent Sin was completed, and while it reused most of the assets from Innocent Sin, the gameplay and Rumor system were improved upon. The original producer (Kouji Okada), character designer (Kazuma Kaneko) and composers (Toshiko Tasaki, Kenichi Tsuchiya and Masaki Kurokawa) returned alongside Satomi. Halfway through the production of Innocent Sin, writer Tadashi Satomi felt that a fresh point of view was needed in addition to Tatsuya, laying the groundwork for Eternal Punishment. The gameplay features turn-based battle gameplay, where characters use their Personas in battle against demons, and a separate Rumor system, where rumors spread around the city can influence events in the characters' favor, either bad or good. During her investigations, she and others who join her gain the ability to summon Personas, personified aspects of their personalities. Taking place a few months after Innocent Sin, the game follows reporter Maya Amano as she investigates the Joker Curse, a malign phenomenon where people's wishes and rumors are coming true and causing chaos. In response to this, the PlayStation version was released on PlayStation Network in 2013.Įternal Punishment takes place in the fictional Japanese city of Sumaru, and is a direct sequel to Persona 2: Innocent Sin. This version, released in Japan in 2012, did not receive an overseas release. The game was later remade by Atlus for the PlayStation Portable. It was originally published in 2000 by Atlus in Japan and North America for the PlayStation. ![]() Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus, and chronologically the third installment in the Persona series, a subseries of the Megami Tensei franchise. ![]() Others are far more excited, as the remaster is based on the Total War: Rome engine which is considered by many as superior to the current iteration of the Total War engine. There is a bit of frustration within the Steam forums that Creative Assembly would remaster a prior Total War: Rome instead of ensuring Total War: Rome 2 could be completed. Save files continue to corrupt halfway through campaigns, the opposing AI consistently bends the rules in its favor, and the heft of DLCs have left a bad taste in the mouth of many of Creative Assembly's most ardent admirers. However, some are frustrated about the continued state of Total War: Rome 2, which released in late-2013. With a slew of upgrades and reworks, one may presume that fans of the classic Total War: Rome would be enthused to learn that Creative Assembly is revisiting the classic title. Fans that own the previous Total War: Rome can purchase the remaster for 50% off until June 1, 2021, bringing the total to $14.99. ![]() The title will offer cross-platform play as well, between Windows, Apple, and Linux operating systems. Creative Assembly isn't stopping there, however: the studio has also opted to bring the classic title up to the modern age with tactical maps for battles, Merchant agents, heat maps, and a fully overhauled diplomacy system. ![]() The remaster offers 4K graphics, new factions (along with all previously playable), high-quality resolutions, and overhauled missions, environments, and models. Sega has just announced that Total War: Rome is being remastered, with a release scheduled for April 29, 2021. RELATED: Total War: Warhammer 2 Releasing Free New Legendary Lord The title is now more than 15 years old and still manages to come out ahead in the eyes of many players compared to more recent offerings of Creative Assembly. The gameplay shifted from campaign maps to bloodied battlefields, allowing players to develop an over-arching strategy and control individual units against the ferocious Gauls and Spaniards. The title offered a fresh look at the all-encompassing borders of Rome, filled with era-specific tactics and units. Now, it looks like it's back on the menu from a recent Sega announcement with a title called Total War: Rome Remastered. Of the franchise, one of the most beloved titles would be Total War: Rome, released in 2004. Development studio Creative Assembly has made a name for itself with its Total War franchise, one that has offered up everything from medieval violence to fantasy-laden tropes of elves and orcs. ![]() 1/10 (Beginner)- Can be done as soon as you buy the game. ![]() The difficulties for the campaigns are represented on a one to ten scale as follows:

![]() But Biomutant's nested sub-menus and use of different upgrade currencies are scattershot and awkward, especially when plenty of the upgrades can also be achieved using the mountain of gear you'll discover as you explore. Plus, you can upgrade your character in various ways, including enhancing abilities related to the class type you picked, your resistance to different environmental elements like the cold or radiation, and the option to unlock weapon-type specific combos. I am particularly attached to an electric sword I made from an old toilet brush, but it's definitely far from the easiest system to get to grips with. It's part looter shooter grind, with new weapons and armor hidden in old furniture and chests across the world, but there's also an odd and overly complicated crafting system too. Struggle through the very linear opening, and the world folds out before you, only to reveal that Biomutant suffers from having an abundance of systems to get to grips with – none of which are ever particularly well explained. The character creation and story beats are just the beginning though, as this game continues to feel at odds with itself. The Biomutant poster child that we've been seeing for years is far removed from the little fuzzy fighter I ended up with. Big buck teeth, teenie eyes, mismatched body parts, and other oddities were seemingly the only options, with all of that exaggerated by the Biomutant breed you opted for. Despite my best attempts – an almost an hour of tweaking – I couldn't ever settle on a character that I was drawn to or found even vaguely adorable. It doesn't help that the character creation is quite off-putting. The childish language constantly butts heads with the old-world commentary, failing to strike the sort of tone you might expect from a game with such bright and inviting visuals, and the fuzziest of casts. For example, a piano is a 'string plonk', a guitar is a 'twing-twang', and your mother is your Mooma, which is said with such drawn-out vowels it's almost impossible to take seriously. Like Horizon Zero Dawn, the characters have developed their own names for various human elements, which only adds to the fact the narrative can feel like a children's storybook. It's so slow that I found myself skipping the gibberish to get to the narration, only to accidentally skip over both, losing crucial slices of information or quest objectives. Characters will speak to you in gibberish, then after a pause, a narrator tells you what they've said. Well, it's undercut by the fact the narrative is delivered in the most painful of ways. ![]() Fighting Grievers as they go, the survivors escape the Maze (in the process, Jeff dies trying to save Minho) and eventually enter a laboratory strewn with dead scientists and technicians. Most of the Gladers are swayed to free Thomas and Teresa and attempt to escape the Maze, but Gally and a few others refuse to leave. Meanwhile, Gally has taken command and intends to sacrifice Thomas and Teresa to the Grievers to restore peace to the Glade. Thomas awakens and shares this information with Teresa, Newt, Minho, and Chuck, (World Catastrophe: Killzone Department) the boys unknowingly have been test subjects for an experiment. Unconscious, he recalls that he and Teresa worked for the organization that created the Maze, W.C.K.D. The others inject him with the last anti-venom. Thomas, who has had disconnected memory flashes since arriving, stabs himself with a severed Griever stinger in an attempt to revive his memory. Gally punches Thomas in the face and blames him for everything that has happened. Alby, Zart, and a few others are killed during the attack. A massacre ensues as the Gladers, practically defenseless against the Grievers, struggle to fight back or hide. That night, the Maze entrance does not close while others open, letting Grievers pour in. Thomas and Minho venture back into the Maze and discover a possible exit but are nearly trapped, barely making it back to the Glade. One is used on Alby, and he gradually recovers from the Griever sting and begins regaining his memories. The girl, Teresa, has two syringes filled with an unknown substance. ![]() With the mechanical device, they may be able to find an escape route. The device is numbered to correspond to a certain section within the Maze. The Maze's numbered sections open and close in a regular sequence that might be a code. Minho shows Thomas a scale model of the Maze he has built, based on his three years of exploration. Gally claims Thomas has jeopardized the fragile peace between the Gladers and the Grievers and wants him punished, but Newt, the second-in-command of the Gladers, instead designates Thomas a Runner. They locate the Griever corpse and remove a beeping mechanical device from inside it. Thomas, Minho, Frypan, Winston, and Zart enter the Maze. A note says that "She is the last one ever". She apparently recognizes Thomas though he cannot remember her. The next morning, the first-ever girl arrives in the elevator. To the other boys' astonishment, they return the next morning. Later, Thomas finds Minho and his actions during the night keeps them alive, and he kills a Griever by tricking it into a narrow, closing passageway thus causing it to be crushed, making him the first to ever survive a night in the Maze and kill a Griever. Thomas slides under the Maze wall, managing to hide from a Griever. During the night in the Maze, Thomas and Minho tie Alby up high on the Maze wall to hide him from the Grievers, but Minho abandons Thomas when a Griever emerges from the center of the Maze. Thomas spontaneously runs into the Maze to help but all three are trapped. Minho reappears at dusk dragging Alby, who is stung by a Griever, but they are unable to reach the closing entrance in time. Minho, the Keeper of the Runners, and Alby later retrace Ben's steps inside the Maze. Ben is forced into the Maze and left to die as there is no cure for what the Griever infected him with. The next day, Thomas is attacked by Ben, a Runner who has been stung by a Griever – deadly techno-organic creatures that roam the Maze at night. While in a competition with another boy named Gally, the boy suddenly remembers his name is Thomas. No one has ever survived a night inside the Maze. During the day, designated Runners search the Maze for an escape route, returning before nightfall when the entrance closes. The boy learns that a vast Maze surrounding the Glade may provide the only way out. ![]() Alby, their leader and the first to arrive in the Glade, says every boy eventually recalls his name, but none remember their past. The boys, who call themselves Gladers, have formed a rudimentary society with each assuming specialized tasks. Every month, a new boy and supplies arrive in the elevator. A group of male youths greet him in a large grassy area called the Glade that is enclosed by tall, stone walls. A 16-year-old boy wakes up inside an underground service elevator with no memory of his identity. My statement in no way indicated whether one way is easier than another, we aren't talking about the same thing at all. The lack of a decent WYSIWYG just adds another negative point against linux, regardless of how we feel about coding standards and programs. (detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0#result The argument that dreamweaver produces bad code is met with the fact that the majority of websites run non-valid code. Why use vBulletin? Lets use mailing lists. Why make an easy to use video editor, people can pay $99999 for adobe professional video suite 9, as the videos that come from easier to use video editors are lower quality. Why make an ipod? people can play their music at home on the stereo, after all mp3 is usually lower quality. If we extend on the premise that doing something by hand is easier than by automation: We make tools to make our lives easier, if a dreamweaver like editor can help a simple site be easier to make than so be it. I'm just wishes for some of their better features to be adopted. PS - To Frontpage haters, please don't think I'm asking for a Linux WYSIWYG editor to be exactly like Frontpage that produces horrible code and all. OpenOffice Writer/Web () (current aren't interested in expanding their html editor)Īlso, list the features in this thread you'd like to see any of the above Linux web editors adopt so others can see what features we liked in editors like Frontpage that the Linux editors don't have, or we couldn't find. The current true WYSIWYG web editors for Linux that I know of are:Ĥ. If you support the idea of this campaign, please voice your support in this thread and also help campaign to the existing Linux web editor projects to add more Frontpage-like features to their editors. ![]() I filed a suggestion for this to OpenOffice to improve on their simple html editor app (which many think is the most Frontpage-like web editor), but they declined () saying they don't currently have the resources to add additions to their HTML editor. I'm starting this thread to campaign to the current Linux WYSIWYG html editor projects to adopt some of the features that made editors like Frontpage a favorite among amateur web builders, such as myself. However, I and other amateur web builders who favored amateur-oriented web builders like Frontpage feel that the few WYSIWYG web editors available for Linux just don't quite match up enough to user-friendliness and convenient features found in editors like Frontpage. I'm an amateur who uses Frontpage to build websites for fun and I'm transitioning to Linux to get as Windows-free as I can. |
